LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
With a veto override in both chambers of the NC General Assembly, SB20 "Care for Women, Children, and Families Act” becomes law, protecting even more unborn lives and providing support for women and families. SB 20 sets reasonable limits on elective abortion in NC, and makes over $160 million in significant investments in the welfare of children, families and womenThe law takes effect July 1.

The NC House passed a bill to fund students through a method lawmakers have deemed "backpack funding" rather than funding public schools directly. House Bill 823 would expand the opportunity scholarship program to all K-12 students in North Carolina with grant amounts based on household income.
