The NYC Pride 2023 festivities have officially commenced, and The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is getting in on the rainbow-hued celebrations.

Grace Episcopal Cathedral church held a ceremony Sunday, May 28 to unveil a new stained-glass window that features Pentecost figures from centuries past, including one leader from Topeka. The local leader is the Rev. Joseph Thompson. Thompson worked as the Vicar of St. Simon’s Episcopal Church and the Deacon of Grace Cathedral until his death in 2003.

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church held their routine Sunday services this past weekend despite losing their sanctuaries. Caleb Collins, pastor of St. Stephen's, said more than 100 people attended the Douglas service in Bisbee on Sunday, which was encouraging to the Douglas congregation.
