This year marks the 22nd Year SCH has hosted its Homebuyer Expo to kick off National Homeownership Month for Chicagolands' prospective homebuyers.

For the third consecutive year, Chicago Public Schools (CPS) will offer Summer Sports Skills Camps to students in grades 5-12 FREE of charge this summer. Camps will run across 20+ CPS campuses and park district sites, offering over 60 sports programming options across 15 unique sports! Students will be able to learn how to play new sports or they can continue to develop their skills in the sports they love.
Camp Calendar:
CPS’ Summer Sports Skills Camps will be offered from June 26, 2023- July 27, 2023 but each individual camp’s start date may vary within the time frame. No camps will run the week of July 3-7, 2023 in observance of the July 4th holiday.
Camp Registration:
In order to participate in summer sports programming, students must be registered via the link below. Registration opens May 22, 2023 and will close June 9, 2023.
Por tercer año consecutivo, las Escuelas Públicas de Chicago (CPS) ofrecerán campamentos de destrezas deportivas de verano para estudiantes en los grados 5-12 GRATIS este verano. ¡Los campamentos se realizarán en más de 20 campus de CPS y sitios del distrito de parques, ofreciendo más de 60 opciones de programación deportiva en 15 deportes únicos!

Parents! There is an incredible opportunity for CPS students to work outdoors, make friends, keep active, have fun, and make a difference by working as a Chicago Park District lifeguard this summer! Lifeguards who successfully complete all required training and fulfill their duties during the summer season will receive a $600 bonus. Additionally, all hired lifeguards will have a chance to win a one-day pass to Lollapalooza, Six Flags Great America tickets, and an annual Divvy membership. All candidates will receive tickets to a Chicago Fire FC Soccer game upon completing the required Lifeguard Skills Test. Students can visit the Chicago Park District website to learn more and apply.

The Bright Project is a 6-week summer program that is in collaboration between Code Nation, the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), and the Gray Matter Experience and it is designed to build relevant and real-world skills in STEM and entrepreneurship. The Bright Project exposes students to a real industry challenge, in-depth coding experience, and business and entrepreneurial models to prepare them for their future goals! All students who participate will receive travel support if needed and will receive a stipend upon completion of the program.
Program logistics:
The program runs June 26th - August 4th, Monday through Friday (with the exception of July 3rd and 4th)
Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
2-3 days will be in person at a location downtown and the rest will be virtual
Note: Student must be a rising 10th-12th grader to apply
All participants of the Bright Project will receive a financial stipend of at least $300 upon completion of the program. Aspen Parent Portal
Have you activated your CPS Parent Portal account? Do you need assistance with logging into your Parent Portal account? The CPS Parent Portal is a convenient way to check your student’s grade, attendance and establish a line of communication with teachers. Parents who utilize the portal can set up email and text message alerts about their student’s grade and attendance. Parents can email Assistant Principal Walker at slwalker@cps.edu to get support with your accessing Parent Portal accounts.
