To celebrate Volunteers' Week, we have launched our new film, u3a off the wall - be part of something bigger. Read more further down the newsletter.

Dear <<First Name>>

The u3a is a movement of many volunteers, all giving their time and talents for the benefit of others. During National Volunteer Week we celebrate those members who give so much time and energy to bring people together to learn, experience new ventures and simply enjoy life.

Together we are part of nearly 400,000 people in towns and cities and villages, together we can "Be Part of Something Bigger". Thank you to all of you volunteers who make this happen, you are the life force of the u3a.

very best

Chief Executive
Be Part of Something Bigger

We hope you all enjoyed our new film (see the top of the newsletter.) Filmed at the u3a Off the Wall event earlier this year, it is an example of the amazing things that can happen when members share skills with each other.

Our new film series celebrates the ways that individual u3a members take part in the larger movement - whether that's through attending national u3a events or volunteering their skills. Each film is a reminder that we are all part of one movement. Watch the film on the u3a YouTube channel - and we'll be sharing more of this new series later this year.
A graphic depicting the volunteering roles within u3a. There is an icon of yellow people - underneath this, it says "We have 370 Trust Volunteers supporting the Third Age Trust." There is a graphic of a man and a speech bubble coming out of it - next to this it says "On average 15 speakers volunteer to share their knowledge, skills and experience every month as part of the Online Events programme." There is a circle with arrows going round it and beneath this it says, "Subject Advisers are one of our largest groups of Trust volunteers." There is an icon of two hands shaking and next to it, "We have 15 Volunteer Board of Directors of the Trust". There is an icon showing a compass point on a map - next to this it says "There are 13 types of Trust volunteer roles at a regional or national level." There is an icon showing a phone and a message icon coming out of it - next to this it says, "4 Volunteers work with staff to answer approx 330 calls on the u3a advice line per month." There is an icon of three people in circles connected together through lines, next to this it says, "1035 u3as are supported by volunteers across the movement who make a difference in their local u3a, network, region, nation and at the Third Age Trust."
The u3a movement celebrates Volunteers' Week

u3a is one of the largest volunteer-led movements in the UK, with around 400,000 members contributing to their u3as.

Every day of Volunteers' Week, we have been sharing stories of u3a members sharing their time and energy to the u3a movement. Visit our social media to see some of these stories - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

Most importantly, we want to say thank you to all our members and everyone who contributes to the u3a movement. The u3a movement wouldn't exist without you.
