The Right Reverend Gretchen Rehberg is on a transplant list in Seattle for two donor lungs. Hers are failing because of a disease she’s had for more than two decades and which has progressed to the point where she sometimes needs to take supplemental oxygen. Rehberg wrote about her medical condition and all of the things that come with it in a recent column at SpokaneFavs.com. She agreed to talk about it with us.

The Right Reverend Gretchen M. Rehberg, ninth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, writes: "It ultimately is my choice, to choose the scary and risky unknown in order to gain new life, or to slowly die from my illness. I choose to risk in order to live. I hope our congregations will do the same, and ultimately, the choice is always theirs."

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Grand Haven, Michigan, will sponsor the city’s first Pride festival on June 10. The event is proceeding while in the background the surrounding county continues to shift from traditional conservatism to far-right politics and Christian nationalism.
 
The Westerly Sun (RI)
When he became the 19th rector of Westerly's Christ Church Episcopal back in 2014, the Rev. Sunil Chandy said his hope was to "help the spiritual life of Westerly and its residents flourish and thrive." Nearly a decade later and his goal accomplished, Chandy, who has become a much-loved member of the Westerly community, is moving to Michigan to help new communities in a new state.
 
Roswell Daily Record (NM)
The Rev. Susan Pigott answered the call to become the new full-time priest for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Pigott will be ordained as an Episcopal priest on June 10. According to St. Andrew’s senior warden Cory Butler, Bishop Scott Mayer of the Diocese of Northwest Texas will preside over the ceremony, and many clergy guests from Texas and the Diocese of the Rio Grande will be present.
