CME Exposes Ripple Effect of Incivility
A special VJH Physician Society Dinner and a Movie CME in May highlighted the devastating effects of incivility in healthcare to an audience of family practitioners, specialists and IH administrative staff.
Recognizing the need to rebuild social connections amongst the VJH medical staff members, the new social committee physician lead piloted a walk down the famous Rail Trail this spring.
Four new UBC Integrated Community Clerkship (ICC) students will be joining VJH for the next 12 months. Special thanks to Dr. Carmen Larsen for her leadership role in this program.
This Health Quality BC film is both a reflection and a call to action, an acknowledgement of the collective trauma and burnout the health care system has inherited in a post-pandemic world.
The film asks the most pressing questions facing the continuum of care: How do we address burnout and compassion fatigue? How do we cope with the onset mental health crisis affecting health care workers? How can we make sense of all this and, most importantly, how can we move forward, together, better than before?
