Florida Men Sentenced for Seditious Conspiracy for Their January 6 Role
David Moerschel, 45, a neurophysiologist from Punta Gorda, and Joseph Hackett, a 52-year-old chiropractor from Sarasota, had been convicted in January alongside other members of the antigovernment extremist group for their roles in what prosecutors described as a violent plot to stop the transfer of power from former President Donald Trump to President Joe Biden after the 2020 election.
A federal judge just sentenced them to three years, or more, in prison.
These sentences confirm that MAGA supporters attempted to overthrow our democracy on January 6. This fact is still unacknowledged by many in the MAGA movement inside the Republican Party. Worse, the MAGA followers remain election deniers and are motivated to rip apart our democracy.
MAGA Republicans Tried to Destroy Our Economy MAGA Republicans either called for default on the national debt or voted not to increase the debt limit. Here are a few high profile MAGA fellow travelers:
FOX News, Ron DeSantis, The House Freedom Caucus, Heritage Action, The Club for Growth, and Stephen Bannon.
Donald Trump advised the GOP to default rather than budge from their demands.

MAGA Voted for Economic Chaos A "Freedom Caucus" member Dan Bishop (R-NC) complained that if the debt limit were increased, then the GOP nominee wouldn't be able to run on the resulting economic chaos.
In short, MAGA would destroy our economy to obtain political power just as they would destroy our democracy to impose their will on the rest of us.
Take Action We must marginalize the MAGA GOP. Patriot Republicans should do all they can to purge MAGA form the GOP.
All of our members and supporters should register to vote and encourage friends and neighbors to do so too.

About $12 billion in veterans benefits are expected to be paid out June 1 -- the same day the Treasury Department has named as the earliest day a default could happen if Congress doesn't act to avoid it.
A default would likely delay those benefits, but for exactly how long would depend on the Treasury's next move after a default, experts who spoke to Military.com said.
The MAGA GOP talks support for veterans. When they vote, they vote against veterans.

DeSantis wages war on LGBTQ+ residents, teachers, universities, anti-discrimination laws, gun safety and so many other institutions and principles that a sane, inclusive society holds dear. So far he has only hurt Florida, as a presidential candidate he is a threat to our democracy.
Take Action As a group we need to increase our impact. We provide plenty of ammunition to drop truth bombs on MAGA, but we are missing the target too often. Every member and supporter can help us zero in.

Our job is to rebut the many MAGA myths, propaganda, and the misinformation that it continuously spews. As an example, it's an accepted myth that MAGA supports veterans. It doesn't. When it's time to vote, MAGA votes against veterans almost always as evidenced by the headline we provided in this notice.
