Got a Head for Numbers?

DLIA is looking for a new Treasurer.  Suzanne Witthoff, current Treasurer and a member of the Nominating Committee for Treasurer, recently updated the duties of the Treasurer.  During the last four years, Suzanne has significantly streamlined the job’s record keeping and reporting processes. The Treasurer need not be a year-round resident. While the monthly time commitment varies seasonally with peaks during merchandise sale periods and membership dues collection in early spring, Suzanne estimates the job takes about 2-6 hours monthly.

The Treasurer works closely with the Merchandise Manager, DLIA’s Membership Administrator, DLIA’s Officers and the Executive Committee.

The Loons are off their nests

All our loons nested around the same time this year, and all chicks that survived are in the water. We have two chicks from the Marl Bay nest and one chick from each of the other nests. 

Please remember to retrieve all fishing line and tackle and use lead-free sinkers and jigs to reduce the risk of lead poisoning.

Please keep your distance from loon families.

Merchandise Sale!
This Saturday, June 10, is the first Douglas Lake merchandise sale for the season! There will be lots of new merchandise for all members of the family, including the dog! As usual, the sale will run from 10am until Noon and will be behind the Pellston Lodge off of Hwy 31. 

Volunteers are always needed for sales and other projects throughout the year. If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions about Douglas Lake merchandise, send me an email at Merchandise@DouglasLake.org

Future sales will be July 1, July 22, August 12, and September 2.
