What: Nutrients for Life Teacher Institute
When: Tuesday August 29^th– 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM & Wednesday August 30^th – 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Where: Journey begins at Kelburn Farm, 1228 Kelburn Road, Howden, MB
Who: Capacity for 25 teachers (Apply Early)
Application: On-line applications deadline Friday June 16th, Acceptance notification by Wednesday, June 21st.
Travel: Some accommodation is available for participants outside of Winnipeg, please contact us
Cost: $75 due on acceptance

TENTATIVE AGENDA

Teachers across Manitoba are invited to join Nutrients for Life Canada on a day and a half journey to explore how teachers can engage in Canada’s Sustainable Agriculture Strategy. Canadian Agriculture is sustainably addressing food security not only for the “Northern Great Plains” but also for the global community. This opportunity will provide educators with the background knowledge allowing them to integrate a science or social studies inquiry-based approach for sustainable agriculture into their classrooms.

We will hear from key (and keen) folks in the agriculture industry and have a full day and a half learning and visiting various agriculture locations! We plan on addressing a variety of topics dependent on the tour.

Meet Beth, the 2023 Scotts Canada Youth Gardener!

Beth is from Strathmore High School in Alberta! Beth has been a part of the Strathmore High School Community Greenhouse Project from the beginning and we are thrilled to see her recognized for her leadership and hard work. Great job Beth!!

Nutrients for Life Foundation Canada was once again proud to sponsor s junior award this past May at the first in-person Canada Wide Science Fair since the pandemic! Regional Manager, Cheryl joined the festivities and was really impressed with their project!! Way to go Mya and Violeta!!

Join teachers from across Canada and the United States for our Virtual Professional Development!
July 24 - 28, 2023 via Zoom
10:00 – 11:30 AM CT

Each day we will host a live event and have independent study. Participants in the seminar will receive a package with resource and materials needed for the workshop.

Using the Nutrients for Life Foundation resources, educators will learn the scientific reasoning behind soil, nutrients and sustainable practices used to grow enough food to feed the growing world population. Educators participating in the professional development will be provided the necessary knowledge, free resources and experience to take back to their classrooms with ready to go hands on inquiry-based lesson plans.
