YARN BOMB THE EXCHANGE What is yarn bombing?
This art movement involves using colorful synthetic yarn to adorn different objects (like trees, benches, railings and lampposts) in a creative and impromptu way. Be a creator involved in this project!
We want your 6” squares, doilies or tendrils to use in our Yarn Bombing project at The Exchange. Be a part of the legacy of our new Culture hub!
Drop off your work or join our free workshops! You and your friends are welcome to join us live on Wednesdays and Saturdays to exchange knowledge or learn a new craft. Be a part of the art that will surround the block on benches, poles, and signposts. The work will serve to tie all three Exchange buildings together, creating a bond between people and a sense of place. CONTEST!
As a ‘thank you’ for contributing to the Yarn Bomb project, one lucky participant, selected at random, will receive a gift card for $75 to Magic Hour Needlecraft, 6009 Valleyway #119, Niagara Falls. The giveaway draw will take place on September 11. DETAILS [SCROLL DOWN PAGE]

HUMAN NATURE EXHIBITION
Scientific evidence shows us that Human-made climate change threatens life on this planet. To ensure a viable habitat for present and future generations, sustainable ways of living must be quickly adopted. The artefact collections of the Niagara Falls Museums illustrate times of balance and times of imbalance for humans. These objects help us to think of our place on Earth as just one of many species and the impact that we have. Forging a new way together using Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Science, we can create a hopeful vision for a sustainable future.
Highlights include:
Nature photography by Mark Zelinski
Nature Mandala Sit Spot by Victoria Brecht
Prophecy Beadwork Art by Samuel Thomas, Cayuga Nation
Four Wampum Agreement Reproductions by Ken Maracle, Cayuga Nation
