Hi Friend-

I hope you've had a chance to enjoy this fabulous weather weekend! From a farming perspective, we could do with a bit more rain. But from a 3 day weekend and Tuesday Market attending perspective, this is just fine, thank you. But let's all use our powers of persuasion to bring in some solid night-time rain showers.

This week's market brings back so many of your favorite vendors and, making her first appearance this season, MichelleBijou jewelry. We are coming into strawberry season and, thank goodness, the frost didn't do widespread harm to these juicy red beauties. And it's still asparagus season. Pick up a bunch of spears before they're gone!

I recommend you plan to snack or feast at the plaza while listening to the fun and funky Northampton based mother-son duo of Elena Ciampa and Simon Dostal.

SNAP users, remember to use up your May HIP allotment! And, as always, come see us at the purple market tent for the $10 SNAP Match. Check the list below and the map at the market to see which vendors take SNAP & HIP.

See you at the market!

Elena & Simon Play the market!

Elena Ciampa and Simon Dostal are a mom-son musical duo who value the simple pleasures. Their personable renditions of standards from the bygone days are the perfect accompaniment to a day dedicated to enjoying delicious market treats, taking in some fresh air, and breaking from the daily grind.

Simon (he/him) is a member of Northampton High School’s graduating class of 2023; he is a lifelong vocalist who played trumpet in ensembles from ages 8 through 13 and discovered his love of song at NHS with his participation in two of the yearly spring musicals. He is currently a member of the Northamptones (NHS’ famed a cappella group), writes and performs his own work, and is set to explore more of the same during his upcoming gap year and future days in higher education.

Elena (she/her) is an area musician, vocalist, composer, songwriter, and a 2022 award-winning graduate of Holyoke Community College, where she studied Jazz Piano, Jazz Voice, Composition, and Arranging. She is finalizing production on a small collection of her own works, aiming to begin releasing them this summer, and will start a Master of Music in Composition this fall at the Hartt School in West Hartford. Her group Elena Ciampa and Friends is an 8-piece ensemble of formidable artists who have brought her jazz originals to life.
