Book for Type Tuesday: Cover to cover

Dear friends

Please come to our next Type Tuesday, from 7 to 9:30pm on 6 June at St Bride Library.

'Cover to Cover' will be all about books and we have some terrific speakers for you. Nico Taylor and Jack Smyth will be presenting their notorious ‘Cover Design Wheel of Fortune’; Anna Morrison will be talking about her celebrated cover designs; and there will be a short panel discussion.

So if you live in reach of London, please book your tickets for ‘Cover to cover’, our latest ‘Book night’ Type Tuesday next week on 6 June 2023 at St Bride Library. There will be a bar and a stall where you can buy bargain back issues of Eye and the latest editionEye 104.

Using real-life case studies across a variety of publishers, Nico and Jack will look at various aspects of the cover design process: from briefing forms to the cover meeting, the pressures of designing a bestseller to what makes something ‘good’, and much more.

Anna Morrison is an award-winning freelance book cover designer. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, Creative Review, Print, Lit Hub and the Type Directors Club. Before going freelance in 2019, she worked as an in-house designer at Random House and 4th Estate and was formerly the Art Director for Pushkin Press. Anna now works with large and independent publishers both in the UK and internationally.

The majority of her design work is for adult trade fiction and non-fiction books.
