Dalat Named Athletic Program of the Year

Each year, the Asia Christian Schools Conference (ACSC) recognizes one of its member schools for outstanding performance in that year's ACSC tournaments. For the first time since ACSC’s founding in 2013, Dalat was named the ACSC Athletic Program of the Year for outstanding performance across all core tournaments. Our varsity Dalat Eagles won the boys soccer tournament, made finals appearances in both boys and girls basketball, and finished in the top half in girls soccer and girls volleyball. Congratulations to our varsity student-athletes and coaches on this year’s amazing accomplishments and for a job well done. Go Eagles! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest in Dalat Athletics news.

We are inviting Dalat Alumni to join us for a special alumni reception on June 8 at 6 p.m. in the Student Center before the Class of 2023’s graduation ceremony. Elementary Makers Week

During Maker Week, elementary students celebrate and practice the design process and engineering skills with hands-on projects. Applying what they have learned in science, students get to discuss, build, and test ideas. This year, Grades K-4 spent the week engineering solutions to specific problems. Each grade was given a real-life situation and used the design process to engineer solutions: they asked important questions, imagined and planned, created and tested their solutions, and added improvements where necessary. During the week, kindergartners created windmills. Grade 1 designed and tested parachutes. Grade 2 tested and improved upon play dough. Grade 3 created machines, and Grade 4 designed, built, and tested water filters. What fun was had all around! See more photographs in our online folder.

Senior Scribble

Each week, Dalat seniors (Grade 12) write journalistic articles about current events or individuals within the Dalat community and publish them on a blog called The Senior Scribble.

This week’s articles are from Luis Vieira (“Senior Skrible”), Trevor Nichols (“The Pinkening”), and Ray Lee (“I’m Gonna Miss this Place”).

Campus Access during Summer Break

With the exception of the business office, uniform store (by appointment) and summer camps, the Dalat campus will be closed during the summer break. Check with the main office staff if you have a special request.

Upload Passport-Style Parent ID Photos
Beginning August 2023, all adults will be required to wear security badges while on campus. This will help us to easily identify all individuals who are authorized to be on school grounds and increase the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and visitors.

We will provide a photo identification badge to all Dalat parents. We kindly ask that you upload a recent digital passport-style headshot photo of yourself to PowerSchool as soon as possible. This will allow us to prepare and print badges during the summer break and will streamline the process for everyone involved. Please wear this badge whenever you are on campus (outside of your car) so that we can better recognize you. Temporary parent badges will also be available, but users will need to sign in and out at our guardhouse or front office like a visitor to use these badges.

Please follow these ID photo upload instructions from our technology team. If you need assistance, please contact helpdesk@dalat.org.

Introducing the Library Reimagined Project

We are pleased to announce that the Library Reimagined Project is just days away. Beginning June 10, construction will begin on a total library redesign that includes new furnishings, upgraded shelves, comfortable seating, spaces for group interaction, and more. We look forward to unveiling all the special features and components of our new library on August 1 – just in time for the new school year.

This project is funded by generous donors who believe in Dalat’s mission. We have already raised over RM360,000 towards this renovation; however, RM40,000 is still needed in order to completely fund the project. Together, we can complete the Library Reimagined Project.

Will you join us? Learn more about how you can make a gift today.

Library Closure!

As mentioned above, the Library will undergo some much-needed renovation during the summer break. Because of the amount of work involved, the library will be closed for the entire summer break from Saturday, June 10 to Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

If you would like to check out library books for the summer break, please come and borrow them by this afternoon Friday, June 2. And don’t forget to make use of our online database - download the SORA app and use a Dalat student or staff Google account to access ebooks and audiobooks for free, no matter where you are! (Grades 2 and up)
