The unofficial start to summer

I’m coming off an extended Memorial Day weekend camping trip to Fish Creek campground. And catching up on the news I missed while offline for 5 blessed days. The weather was amazing, the paddling fantastic and the black flies were abundant. (I can say there were no single black flies out this weekend, they were all married with large families….)

Here are some pics from the trip:

A paddling selfie from Square Pond/Fish Creek Pond; an annual family tradition is to photograph “Swamp Thing” (which is fading fast!); a painted trillium.

Some of these pics were posted to our Instagram account. Follow along here:

This summer, the Adirondack Explorer will highlight the issue of housing, with a multi-part series running in the print magazine and online.
