Recent news - The Millennium Project:
  • David Wood, Co-Chair of the UK Node recommended that a UN Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Agency be created during a consultancy conference on the Global Digital Compact May 25th as part of the preparations for the UN Summit of the Future scheduled for September 2024.
  • As part of the initial phase of The Millennium Project’s study on International Governance Issues for Artificial General Intelligence, Yudong Yang of the Alibaba Research Institute of China stressed that “We should take AGI global governance seriously and establish a regulatory agency,” during an interview conducted by Professor Zhouying, Chair of the China Node. To proceed with the next steps of the study, we launched a funding campaign: discover more about how to donate and contact Jerome Glenn and Mara Di Berardo for support and information. So far 17 international AGI leaders have been interviewed and documented views of another 20 have been compiled for a chapter in the next State of the Future and to guide questions for an international RTDelphi on AGI governance.
  • South Summit, June 7-9, 2023: Jerome Glenn and José Cordeiro (Venezuela Node Chair and RIBER President) will be keynote speakers of the new edition of this event for entrepreneurs, investors, startups and companies organized by IE University in Madrid: https://www.millennium-project.org/south-summit-2023-june-7-9-2023/. Jerome will be in Spain 7-15 to also speak in Malaga, and Bilbao along with Ibon Ibon Zugasti, Chair of the MP Node in Spain.

It became an independent NGO in 2009 and has grown to 71 Nodes around the world, produced 58 global futures research studies (most recent is Work/Technology 2050: Scenarios and Actions), published 19 State of the Future reports, produced Futures Research Methodologies 3.0, and has supervised over 400 Tele-Interns and in-person in Washington, DC
