Not sure which class to take or when?
Below is a little road-map of our class offerings: |

|
| This Month’s Featured Class | | Bottles & Other Feeding Tools: Responsive Feeding for Breastfeeding Families
This class is for expecting parents who want to be prepared for using bottles or other alternative feeding methods in the first 2-3 months of postpartum.
We will cover available feeding tools, when to use them, and how to read baby's cues for responsive feeding rather than scheduled feeding.
Participants will leave class with a foundation for understanding their options on feeding baby away from the chest/breast.
This class is essential for parents who intend to pump, or combination feed, and is an EXCELLENT class for partners and support folks to take the lead on learning.

| Prenatal:
We have many childbirth class offerings at The Breastfeeding Center (most now meeting as hybrid classes - both in-person and virtual). Many of our Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) also teach Basics classes that can be perfect to take during the prenatal period. We recommend taking “Basics” classes during this time as it allows you to have time to digest the information and start prepping for your breastfeeding/infant feeding goals. |
| Postpartum:
You’re doing it! You’re parenting! Now that baby is here, you may need some different types of classes. You can always take the Basics classes during this time, however, it can be harder to learn on the job, especially when you’re exhausted.
You also may be considering going back to work or might be interested in addressing baby’s different needs. Check out our many postpartum classes for more. |
| Support Groups:
We also offer many FREE Support Groups available to you through your parenting journey.
Our groups are led by Lactation Consultants from The Breastfeeding Center or qualified professionals, who provide a safe and welcoming space for parents to talk about the ups and downs and everything in between. |

| | In The News | | I Had No Idea How Hard It Would Be To Navigate Breastfeeding As A Muslim Woman
“All new mothers have a lot to contend with in the early weeks. It’s no small thing to see your entire world shift and suddenly have this tiny, ravenous, needy person attached to you 24/7.
But as a Muslim woman, this was compounded by the misogyny and racism that rules my every day.
Not only was I wading through all the emotional and physical changes of postpartum life, but also extra layers of cultural expectations, societal stereotypes and the sheer practicalities of it too….”
| | Reproductive Justice for AAPI Women: The Ms. Q&A With Dr. Sophia Yen"
“It’s absolutely disheartening to hear that Asians are underrepresented in leadership. And we’ve seen that also, in my husband’s world where he’s a programmer, Asians don’t rise. There may be stereotypes of Asians, but we know Asians come in all flavors and sizes. If you go to Japan or China, there are certainly Asians in leadership. However, part of the barrier might stem from the oppression we faced as immigrants, where we had always been told to keep our heads down, not speak up and go with the flow—and maybe that’s not seen as leadership skills.”

| | | | | We want your hear about your experience!
If you are more than 2 weeks PAST the date of a frenectomy procedure, our care team at The Breastfeeding Center is interested in hearing more about your experiences navigating feeding difficulties and treatment for tethered oral tissues, sometimes known as "tongue tie." If your lactation and feeding experiences have included care for tethered oral tissues, our clinical team would value hearing more about what this journey has looked like for you and your little one. Thank you for sharing your story with us!
