- The Vestry and I have set the date for an All Parish meeting on Sunday, July 9th after the 10 a.m. Worship.
This meeting will be a presentation about St. Patrick's' status in this transition time. It will explore some past and some hoped-for future and particularly where we are now. The objective is to inform the parish how the church in particular St. Patrick's, carries out its mission of sharing The Good News.
Headings will include the following issues that have formed and continue to form our congregation.
- Timeline history
- Church and cultural dynamics
- Church administration and finance (some details)
- Future challenges, Leadership & Finance
- Out Baptismal promises and ministries
This is not a town hall type meeting, but purely informational so that all St. Patrick's members can know where and how and what we are doing. It will not presume to answer all questions, but it will put us all on the same footing as we go ahead together. God is our guide!
- Some sad news first, Sam Garcia our sexton has been in Mexico this past week attending to the death of his father. Please pray for the Garcia family. Sam is still scheduled to move into the upstairs apartment by July. Once here, he will also be our security person.
- Better news, our Parish Administrator, Bobbiejo, will be vacationing later in the month. She will be gone from June 14- 21st, which means she will be in the office for one day each of those weeks, Tuesday June 13th and Thursday June 22nd, so the ongoing tasks will get done, God willing. Your prayers are asked for a happy vacation for her and her family.
- Father Harry Allagree will be the celebrant and Preacher on June 18th. Terry and I will be on a long weekend getaway. You can call Fr. Allagree in case of an emergency. (707) 367-1115
- Starting Sunday, June 4th at Coffee Hour, I will begin a series of short educational presentations about a variety of Christian subjects, including the Bible, Church history, The Book of Common Prayer, and The Episcopal Church. They will be short. I am calling them "Ten Minute Teasers" because they will be brief outlines of subjects that can be expanded through further study and discussion. Sunday's subject will be "How We Got The Bible". Sunday, June 11th will be about some important people of the Bible. Please get your coffee and prepare to listen for only 10 minutes!
- The Communications Committee has noticed a plethora of little pamphlets on various bulletin boards. Now we have put many of them on the rolling board so you can see them better. Check it out. It will feature some events and meetings that you also see here in The Grapevine. Be informed!
- And speaking of The Grapevine, we have decided to limit the publication of The Grapevine to every other week, beginning June 8th. So there will not be a Grapevine on June 15th, but there will be one on June 22nd. If you have an article to submit, please send it to parishadm9000@gmail.com by Tuesday 2 p.m., the week of publication. So if you propose something for The Grapevine that will come out on Thursday, June 8th, the deadline is 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6th, and so forth through the summer!
Note: not twice a month, every other week starting June 8th.
Happy reading!
Blessings,
Father Ed

It was an amazing day on Pentecost Sunday. Enjoy these photos as we captured the readings being done in different languages and we also captured Holy Communion.
During Coffee Hour a photo of Charlie Buff was taken... Who said we can't wear a red Christmas sweater on Pentecost Sunday, LOL!!
We also captured a lovely photo of our Vestry!!

Good News About The Fonseca's in Florida!
|
|
|
Xavier was offered and has accepted a position in the dental school of Nova University at their Ft. Lauderdale campus.
They found a nice apartment near the university and Xavier begins his work there on June 12th.
Meanwhile, Ana Lucía is studying to get her dental hygienist license. That will be a step towards getting her dental license as well, most likely through Nova University.
Luciana is finished kindergarten last week and was in a dance recital over the weekend.
Marianela, Ana Lucía’s sister, is looking into various work possibilities. It seems possible that she can work in the legal field, though not as an attorney as she did in Nicaragua.
The next good news they are looking for is Permanent Residency (green cards) from Homeland Security. They were told in a phone conversation that they should hear something in two weeks, which would by right about now. Here's hoping!
They are very grateful for all the prayers and support of the people of St. Patrick’s ever since they arrived 5 years ago this July. They send everyone their greetings and warm affection.
We’ll send their new address as soon as possible. We’re sure they would love to hear from anyone at St. Patrick’s.

Lunch in Healdsburg!
|
|
On a cool day last Friday, May 26th, ten of St. Patrick's parishioners gathered at Bishop Ranch to have a tour the facilities and pay a special visit to the chapel.
Bishop Ranch hosts Episcopal and other retreats and conferences and is owned by the Episcopal Diocese of California is a place of bucolic beauty set among the forest, farms and vineyards of Sonoma County.
Parishioners viewed the conference center, refectory, grounds, residences, the laborinth and the chapel where Eleanor Albon tried out the organ, and Fr. Ed Howell lead the group in a prayer.
After the tour the group adjourned to a lively lunch at the Parish Cafe in Healdsburg.
All agreed, it was wonderful experience of fellowship and learning.

A Thankful Note from Our Choir Director!
|
|
|
Dear St. Patrick’s Family,
On behalf of myself and Doug Richardson, I would like to say a thank you to the 2022-2023 Choir and the congregation for a successful season of singing God’s praises and for the congregation’s kind support. We hope that the music helped to bring you closer to God, and helped move you in ways that mere words cannot. Doug and I hope you have enjoyed the various styles and genres of music that have been presented in the hope to help nourish your spiritual being.
The Choir will return to rehearsals on Thursday, August 17th at 6:30P.M. and will return to services starting Sunday, September 10th. We will present a lovely arrangement of the Irish Blessing (May the Road Rise to Meet You) as our final anthem this Sunday.
“…and until we meet again, may you keep safe in the gentle, loving arms of God.”
Sincerely,
Mark Kratz
Music Director

Robin Williams in License to Wed (2007)
The following is an insight on why so many adults have chosen the Episcopal Church. You might like to share it with one who is a searcher and could find a home in the Episcopal Church.
- Worship that brings you in, instead of putting you on the sidelines.
- A theology that demands our intelligence rather than ignoring it.
- A willingness not only to tolerate, but also to celebrate differences.
- A heritage that takes the Bible very seriously but is not bound by literalism.
- A strong sense of community in which our consensus is in Christ, not a conformity of opinion.
- A devotion to the Biblical Sacraments instituted by Jesus, which evoke awe and mystery instead of factual explanation.
- A sense of ministry that is rightfully the obligation of every baptized person.
- An insistence upon morality (what is good and loving) and an avoidance of moralism (salvation by code and not by Christ).
- The heritage of Apostolic faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in the Apostolic order given to the church by Him.
The Rev. Canon James MacLean, Diocese of Arkansas
