New Member & Club Info Guide (Lots of Club Details for Everyone!).
Here is a detailed guide to help you get to know the club and our traditions.  Also, please read the 2023 Yearbook which should have been mailed to your house.  If you didn't receive it, please reach out to Phil Smith at jpsmyth2@aol.com.  Read the updated New Member Welcome Guide.
Safety on Bikes, E-Bikes, One-Wheels, Electric Scooters, Mopeds - a few important safety reminders.
  • Chimney Corner Circle is one-way, counter-clockwise for traffic flow - this means you must turn right when exiting the path leaving the club (on all modes of transportation, including bikes).
  • Kids need to wear helmets – CT State Law says under 16 for bikes and under 18 for motorized or electric bikes/vehicles.
  • Footbridge to the club – kids should not ride their electric bikes/vehicles (one-wheels, e-bikes, electric scooters, mopeds, etc.) over the footbridge to the club.  We need to keep all our members safe, the bridge is two ways, and it is unnerving to walk past fast moving motorized vehicles on our narrow footbridge.
  • No bikes, motorized vehicles, or electric modes of transportation are allowed past the bike racks and never on the docks!
  • Car drivers, please be alert and go slowly, there are a lot of young kids on bikes and vehicles, and a lot of blind spots.
  • No Vehicle Battery Charging at the Club. Please remind your kids to charge their vehicles at home. There are fire safety concerns and electrical overload issues with charging vehicles and batteries at the club.

Wylder Smith - 3rd Place at the 2023 Optimist World Champs!

An incredible performance by Wylder Smith and Team USA at Opti World Championships held in Costa Brava, Spain.  All 5 members of Team USA made Gold Fleet, with Wylder placing 3rd (Bronze Medal) and his teammate Travis Greenberg placing 2nd (Sliver Medal) - out of 250 sailors and 36 countries!  Team USA also placed 1st for the Nations Cup and 3rd for the Team Racing Worlds!  Congrats to Wylder and his Team!
