A note from Bradley B. Chambers
Secretary of Commerce, State of Indiana

Last month, Indiana proudly hosted a record crowd for the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 – epitomizing Indiana’s culture of speed, innovation, determination and, above all, a commitment to winning! Fittingly, the speed of Indiana’s economic growth and momentum continues to increase across the state as a result of our bold and focused 5E strategy and a strong, talented and proud Hoosier workforce.

Indiana continues to attract new business, add interesting careers, grow local companies and support Hoosier entrepreneurs. The team and I are excited to announce this week’s launch of an online resource portal, created specifically to provide support and resources to existing and future entrepreneurs. The ConnectIND portal is a first-of-its-kind resource that will improve with use and feedback over time. Indiana was recently ranked by Forbes no. 1 in the country for starting a business, and we are determined to continue to support entrepreneurs at all stages of their journey.

It was another multibillion-dollar investment week here as two of the great global names in mobility announced new investments in Indiana. We are thrilled to again welcome Samsung SDI in partnership with GM on their selection of New Carlisle, Indiana, as the home of their new EV battery facility. We are also thrilled to announce GM’s $632 million investment in Ft. Wayne this week, marking the company’s fourth Indiana investment in the last year. Thank you, GM!
