JUNE NEWSLETTER
Happy National Homeownership Month. In this month's edition of our newsletter, we have a lot of important updates, including an introduction to our new Senior Housing Program Manager, a brief recap of Minnesota's legislative session, and a reminder that our 30th Anniversary Block Party Bash is only a month away! Keep reading to learn all about what's going on at Rondo CLT.
Rondo CLT welcomes Damon Mason!
We have exciting news! We are so happy to welcome Damon Mason to our staff as our new Senior Housing Program Manager. Damon was born and raised in Gary, Indiana and moved to the Twin Cities after graduating high school in 1994. At an early age, he knew he wanted to be a part of a community that was progressive, thriving, and openly adapting to cultural differences. He entered the lending industry in 2004 as mortgage loan officer. As he furthered his career, he worked as a processor, underwriter, communications lead, and in compliance. Those disciplines gave him the opportunity to get a full breath and scope of how he wanted to shape his career, which led him to joining local community outreach committees. They serve the purpose of closing the homeownership gap for people of color and identifying the need for downpayment assistance and education for owning property. As he moves forward in his career, Damon is fixed on contributing to the narrative that housing is for all.
Rondo CLT's Block Party Bash
We are almost a month away from our Block Party Bash! As you know, Rondo CLT is turning 30 and we want to invite you to celebrate with us. On July 22, we will celebrate Rondo CLT “block party style” with BIPOC- owned food trucks, a beer garden, live musical performances, and interactive community art projects.

To help ensure these events are a success, we have extended sponsorship invitations. For our newsletter this month, we'd like to acknowledge and thank Wells Fargo and the Family Housing Fund for sponsoring our 30th Anniversary. If you are interested in supporting us by donating, please reach out to Noah Bauer, Community Engagement Specialist.

RONDO CLT IN THE COMMUNITY
NDC Plan it! Graduation:

Congratulations to everyone who participated in NDC's Plan It! Entrepreneur training. Emerging entrepreneurs spent 15 weeks working with trainers to learn the fundamentals of running a business & develop a solid business plan. This is the 13th cohort we have partnered with NDC on and are excited about the continued opportunity we have to support small businesses through this program. To sign up for the next course, which runs from Aug. 31- Dec. 7, click here. Registration closes July 29th.

Annual Community Peace Celebration:

On Friday, June 16th, we tabled at the 27th Annual Community Peace Celebration. It was a great opportunity to provide affordable housing information to the community and to join in the dedication of the first Solar Peace Pole in the Twin Cities. The event featured a host of excellent performances, including Rondo CLT's very own Noah Bauer (Panasueco). We'd like to thank Melvin Giles for inviting us to the event, and the many brilliant folks that helped organized it.
Legislative Wrap-Up
This legislative session was exciting for advocates of affordable housing and homeownership opportunities. On May 14th, MN Governor Tim Walz signed a $1 billion housing omnibus bill into law to support affordable homeownership and rental opportunities. In addition to this important piece of legislation, thanks to the help of Representative Samakab Hussein and Senator Sandy Pappas, Rondo CLT was given a $2.2 million appropriation to support our residential work and bolster our commitment to the Rondo community.
Rondo CLT Summer Office Hour Updates
Beginning Memorial Day weekend, Rondo CLT entered its summer operating hours! The office will be closed on Fridays at noon through September 1st. We will also be closed the week of July 3rd.

We hope everyone has a nice summer!
In honor of National Homeownership Month...
Please Consider Supporting our Work

Rondo CLT builds community wealth and neighborhood stability through the development and stewardship of perpetually affordable homeownership opportunities, rental housing, commercial space, and other community assets.

Each new property that enters the community land trust starts a cycle of affordability for generations of low to moderate income earning families and local small business owners. Your donation makes all of this possible. Thank you.
