Looking for something to do outside of the classroom?  Join us at one of Atlanta's Landmarks, Manuel's Tavern.  We have a meet-up scheduled for this Thursday, June 22 at 4pm. Important message, please read!

Our fiscal year end is approaching soon, August 31st.to be exact. We are still short on our yearly donation goals and the number of members donating.  Please help us! Any donation amount helps us get closer to our Endowment requirement. When we don't meet those goals, it puts our endowment in jeopardy with the Osher Foundation.  We really do need our members to donate any amount they can to our program. The Osher Foundation wants to see at least 10% of our membership supportive and invested in our OLLI program. You've helped us meet our 1000-member requirement for 2023, we just need to meet our membership donation percentages. We have less than 1 month to reach this goal and have donations posted to our university records. link to Donate.

We utilize these donations to help fund students that cannot afford classes and want to be involved. We have also used it this year with classroom equipment, helping us Zoom courses and with outreach within our community.  You are helping support OLLI and Lifelong Learning. The Evolution of Spain and its Citizens from Dictatorship to Democracy (1936-1992)
Instructor: Isidra Mencos
In this presentation Isidra Mencos examines the intersection between politics and private lives at a pivotal time in the history of Spain. Dr. Mencos grew up under the Franco dictatorship. She was 17 when Franco died in 1975. The transition to democracy took some years, but the cultural and sexual revolution happened fast. It was a time of hope, but also of political and social conflict. With democracy under threat around the world, Mencos reflects on the impact that authoritarianism has in every aspect of a person’s life, and the decades-long shadow it casts.

No Boundaries: Music From 6 Continents
Instructor: Howard Cohen

Travel around the globe and sample popular, folk, and ethnic music.  Argentine tangos, Brazilian samba, Andean flutes, Japanese shakuhachi, French chansons, Celtic ballads, Portuguese fado are some of the enchanting musical styles covered in this 5-week course.  Howard will emphasize the inevitable interconnectedness of world music.

A Guide To Self-Awareness
