In case you missed it: Community Pharmacy England's Pharmacy Owners' Survey

See communication from CPE below, please respond if you are able to.

Pharmacy Owners: Input into Community Pharmacy England's July Committee Meeting

The Community Pharmacy England Committee will have a full meeting in July and we are seeking input from all pharmacy owners ahead of that.

Our Negotiating Team is currently working hard through the negotiations on the Primary Care Access Plan to make the most of the £645m investment of new money for the community pharmacy sector. The progress of these negotiations will be a key focus for our July Committee Meeting, as will our ongoing work to make the wider case for more investment in the sector, and we are keen for all pharmacy owners (our members) to have the chance to directly input into those discussions.

We are seeking views via a short poll which you can see here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/QK3G8NF

This will be the first time that the Community Pharmacy England Committee has sought views in this way ahead of a Committee Meeting and we will have a discussion on the poll results at the meeting before reporting back to the sector afterwards.

Blood Pressure Check Service: A quick reminder for all pharmacies

A quick reminder to all pharmacies that if you are signed up to provide the national blood pressure check service then you need to be able to complete both parts of the service:

1) Blood pressure check
2) Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)

For more information on the service and to download the specification, please follow this link from Community Pharmacy England https://lnkd.in/e4sUBxMV. Changes to the spec mean that Pharmacy Technician's can now take blood pressure checks and the absolute requirement for 24 hour monitoring has been replaced by the following taken from the specification:

"4.17 The pharmacist or pharmacy technician should ensure that the monitor is set up to record two measurements per hour taken during the person’s usual waking hours (for example between 08:00 and 22:00)."

Refer to the service specification here for more details.

GPhC Registration Assessment June 2023 Exam: Reassurance from GPhC

Good luck to all individuals sitting the registration assessment next Tuesday 27th June 2023.

Following issues at last year's June sitting, the GPhC have taken steps to ensure that things run smoothly this year.

A GPhC representative will be attending each centre as an observer.  They will arrive the day before to ensure set up is completed appropriately and will stay for the entirety of the exam period until all candidates have finished the assessment period.

They will not form part of the assessment team and are just there to monitor proceedings, as such they will not be identifiable directly but the invigilators will be able to advise who the GPhC representative is on the day if needed.

Information about the sitting the GPhC registration exam can be found on their website here.
