"Evaluating new models of care for Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS) in Alaska hospitals," will be presented by Rosalyn Singleton MD, MPH, Research Physician at ANTHC. Maternal opioid use leading to neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS) has increased over the past decade, impacting families. There has been significant variation in care of infants with NOWS. We evaluated the implementation of a new promising model of care which incorporates the parents into the care of their infants. We also evaluated the impact of medication assisted treatment for mothers during pregnancy.
