PRIDE EVENTS
  • Academy Museum of Motion Pictures
    • Drop-In Workshops for Families: Puppets and Pride!
    • Workshop & Show Dates: Saturdays: 10, 17
    • 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level for the workshop. The marionette show will be presented in the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 .pm.
       
  • Drop-In Workshop for Teens: Drag 101,
    • Friday, June 16
    • Academy Museum of Motion Pictures featuring Pickle and friends!
    • Drag 101 will take place from 4:30pm to 6:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level. The workshop is free with museum admission and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • The workshop will cover the history, theory and design of drag, and discuss the influence of drag culture in media and drag representation in film. And no drag class would be complete without a performance element - learn the history of (and how to) vogue.
  • SAMO Pride
    • June 20, 2023, 12:00 a.m.

    • All ages are welcome to enjoy musical performances, PRIDE-related treats, free swag, games, and much more.

    • This free event will feature guest speakers, live musical and dance performances, photo booths, a Black-owned business expo, food trucks, community resources, and more. Register online for this free event.
       
  • The Long Beach Juneteenth Celebration
    • Saturday, June 17  - 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
    • Rainbow Lagoon Park 400 E. Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA Festivities includes live entertainment, guest speakers, vendors, food, and more. Tickets are required and are available for free online.
       
  • Santa Monica Juneteenth Celebration
    • Saturday, Jun 17, 2023 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Virginia Avenue Park 2200 Virginia Ave. Santa Monica, CA 90405
    • This year's theme is Coming Together in Appreciation, Reconciliation, and Commemoration! 
    • The main stage will feature a lineup of musicians emceed by KJLH’s Arron "Bobo" Arnel and DJ Sucafree. 
       
  • The L.A. County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair
    • Sunday, June 18th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
    • Vernont Ave. and W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA
      This free event “raises awareness of the historical impact of Juneteenth as well as connects residents to vital County and community services.” The festivities include discussions, performances, food trucks, and more. Register online. 
  • Leimert Park Juneteeth Festival
    • Monday, June 19th More information Here
    • Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival is located in the historic Leimert Park Village featuring 300 Black owned businesses, three main stages, two DJs stages, and one spoken word stage and more
