Armadale Reptile and Wildlife Centre
Nothing screams family fun more than visiting our scaly friends at the Armadale Reptile and Wildlife Centre. A large variety of native reptiles, along with other Australian wildlife (over 70 species to be exact!), call the centre home, which is open to the public daily from 10am – 4pm. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to safely observe animals in their natural habitat, to see what they look like, how they behave, and to learn about their habits. There'll even be a chance to touch (and maybe hold!) some of the snakes and lizards at different times throughout the day.

Cohunu Koala Park
Take a drive to Byford where you can make friends with some of the Aussie favourites living at Cohunu Koala Park. Stroll through the bush tracks and pathways, and hand feed many of the furry free-roaming animals that call Cohunu home.

Have a chat to one of over 30 talking parrots or get up and close with kangaroos, dingoes, emus, deer, and, you guessed it, koalas. Jump on the mini safari train and zig-zag your way through the park without breaking a sweat (subject to weather conditions and additional fees apply). Don’t forget to snap some cute photos along the way, or you can even upgrade your experience to include a photoshoot holding one of the koalas.

Playtime, Anytime

In the Perth Hills Armadale region we’re lucky enough to have heaps of legendary playgrounds that will keep the kiddos busy all day! If you’re still searching for the best one to head to, don’t worry–we’ve done the work for you. Whether they’re little explorers, nature lovers, or they prefer the adrenaline rush of a flying fox; we’ve got a park to suit. Here’s our top suggestions for these school holidays.

Newhaven Robot Park

With plenty of grass spots perfect for a picnic, you’ll be impressed with Newhaven Robot Park. With a fallen robot to climb, plenty of balance beams and a huge flying fox, this park delivers on both imagination and thrills. The facilities include BBQs and toilets.

Shipwreck Park

Bring your kids to Shipwreck Park for a maritime experience. The all-ability flying fox is a highlight of any visit, so you can enjoy the wind in your hair on this adventure. Little ones will enjoy exploring the 30m shipwreck, which is filled with pirate-themed features.

      Memorial Park

Toot toot, all aboard! Bring the kids to a playground with a distinctive railway theme. With the History House Museum across the street, this location is ideal for history buffs. No BBQs are provided, however there are toilets accessible. Take a break and pop into one of the many nearby cafes for a snack or some lunch before getting back out there!

      Lions Park

Beep beep! Pack your scooters and small bikes, because a highlight of Lions Park is the miniature track around the playground, complete with road markings and signs to guide kids as they navigate themselves around.
