When it comes to participation, chicken lovers are at the top of the pecking order but organisers of the Mossman Show are hoping other people share their agricultural flair at this year’s event.

Entries to the poultry section have been so strong in recent years, the chicken pavilion has undergone and extensive upgrade.

Changed Road Conditions - Port Douglas Gran Fondo - September 9 & 10

The 136km and 100km Gran Fondo courses, the 60km Semi Fondo and 48km Medio Fondo (Medium Ride) will be held on Sunday 10 September.

The Port Douglas Gran Fondo courses will take riders along Great Barrier Reef Drive between Port Douglas and Palm Cove, while taking in breathtaking views through the palm trees alongside the Coral Sea.

Annual Dog Registrations Are Now Due For Dogs In The Douglas Shire

Current dog registrations expire on 31 July 2023, and renewal notices will be posted to all registered dog owners on 30 June 2023.

FREE registrations are available for:

• puppies under the age of six month,
• eligible pensioners over the age of 65, whose dogs have been desexed and microchipped, and
• new residents who can provide a valid registration certificate from another Council.
