Rekindled Relationships
Dear Reader,
I've recently reconnected with a very old friend. We were best of friends in our university days. Got married, had our kids and moved away from each other, we lost contact for many, many years.
And you know, social media often gets slammed for being this negative force on our lives, but it also brings people together. We reconnected again and started seeing something about each other's lives on social media.
Recently, I decided, why not rekindle our relationship? So I reached out to my friend and I said to him, let's just get together and let's just talk a little bit.
And it was phenomenal. I think he started the first discussion, I don't remember. In the end, what we did was we started speaking together with modern technology. We can see each other and we could rekindle our old relationship, and we could start afresh.
And you know, it's been such a blessing in my life. It's brought me so much joy. Not only does he understand me very well from our very long relationship, but I also have insights in who he is and what he's like, and so I can also speak into his life. It's been really a big source of joy.
So I want to challenge you. I want you to think . . is there someone in your past, someone that you can reach out to and you can rekindle that relationship? Maybe you can pick up where you left off last time and rebuild this connection. It'll bring you tons of joy and you'll also spread the joy.
