Coastal Explorers
In partnership with Napa County Office of Education, Stewards brought over 200 kids out to Bodega Head to become Coastal Explorers! Students learned about geology (photo above: volunteer David Tauck), whales (photo below: Whale Watch volunteers Rich and Colleen Draffin) and more! They walked out to the Bodega Rock vista to view seabirds and pinnipeds, and even got their hands dirty removing ice-plant thanks to our friends at the California Native Plant Society. Their next stop is the redwoods!
New Tidepool Touch Table Trailer!

Thanks to volunteer Tom McBride (photo above), we are now set-up with a newly refitted Tidepool Touch Table Trailer! Before, taking the touch table to schools and events was exceedingly logistically complex, required carrying heavy water jugs, and multiple people from varied locations. With the refitted trailer that will have a home at the Salmon creek Ranger Station, featuring a built-in water talk and pumps and with room for everything needed to set-up the touch table, we will be able to deploy the touch table at more events this year!
