June 2023 Newsletter

Happy Independence Day!
The June newsletter is a bit late but here it is!

Policy Changes
Effective immediately members may resume utilizing our facilities with children under the age of 12 years.  They must first complete a Liability Waiver form, which is different from our standard guest waiver form.  This new form is available on the sign in table on the orange clipboard.  A form must be filled out once per child and is valid until 12/31/2023.  We are also working to get this form posted to our website.

Insurance Changes
Thank you to all the members who took the time to complete our survey featured in the May newsletter! Your feedback is valuable to us and helps the executive committee to make the best decisions for our club and members.  Based on the feedback we received we will be changing insurers from Berkshire Hathaway to Lockton Affinity for 2024 and we will be allowing children under the age of 12 years to participate in events and utilize our facilities with a signed waiver as described above.

Range Work
As many of you have seen, we have quite a few projects being worked currently.
Thanks fully to the help of volunteers Tony Grill, Steve Foxe, and Richard Whitlock we were able to remove several trees that were in the way of relocating our 25 yard rifle berm.  The 25 yard berm on the Rifle range is currently closed while we replace the target stand and clear the new firing line for this area.  We'll be erecting a temporary cover for the 25 yard berm and relocating some of the shooting benches to this area.  This change improves access to the 50 yard berm, which is in high demand heading into hunting season.
The berm work on the pistol range is complete.  Unfortunately, this work has taken a toll on the ground in that area which we have a plan to fix, it'll just take a couple weeks.  We are hoping to have the berms seeded in the near future to limit erosion of the berms.
The path between the Pistol and Trap range is currently closed as we rework the drainage in that area.
All of this work has only been possible due to the effort of our members who volunteer their time for the good of the club.  THANK YOU!

Youth Shooting Sports
Based on the feedback we received from the survey there are many families interested in you shooting activities.  We are currently exploring what programs exist and what we could implement at the Lisbon Fish & Game.  If you'd like to volunteer, have children that would be interested, or have suggestions on what you or your family are seeking please let us know!

I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable Independence Day!

Thank you for your contributions to our club!
