DERRERO – RED TELEPHONE – ORINJ
|
|
Friday 14th July 7:30pm
Derrero – Celebrated Welsh band Derrero continue an unstoppable 26-year trajectory with a rare appearance in support of their current album ‘Curvy Lines. DIY approach to music making.
Derrero are a strident and confident band who remain steadfastly unafraid to swim against the tide and self-produce and self-release uncompromising music outside of the mainstream. https://derrero.bandcamp.com/
Red Telephone – Hailing from Cardiff, Red Telephone’s richly layered alt-rock could have emanated from a club in Blade Runner’s dystopian LA – combining angular guitars, Krautrock-inspired rhythms, and New Wave-tinged synths with infectious pop sensibilities. https://redtelephoneband.bandcamp.com/
Orinj – Formed in Bethesda Orinj have been steadily building a strong fan base throughout North Wales and over the border into Liverpool & Manchester. They released their debut album ‘How do you see the World?’ in 2021 and come keenly endorsed by the legendary David Fielding from The Chameleons. https://www.orinj.org/

Simon Whetham – Lorenzo Abattoir – En creux
|
|
28th July 7:30pm
A triple-bill of experimental sound art
Simon Whetham has been exploring aspects of sound as a material for creation, unearthing obscured environmental sonic phenomena, acoustics and resonance, sonic energy and transduction. His projects are increasingly multi-disciplinary, becoming more visual, performative and tangible, exploring physical sound traces and transforming energy forms. https://simonwhetham.bandcamp.com
Lorenzo Abattoir is a sound artist based in Torino (IT). A key element of his work is the relationship between spiritual practices and unusual methods of audio processing, mainly focusing on the use of microphones as a medium
for the amplification of an act.
https://flagdayrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/disincarnazione
Lucia H Chung is a Taiwanese artist based in London, United Kingdom. She performs and releases music under the alias ‘en creux’ where the sound creation springs from her fascinations in noise generated through no-input feedback mixing board. The volatile nature of the system and the unpredictable glitch from the excessive energy pouring into the equipment becomes her improvisational and compositional strategy. https://encreuxmusic.bandcamp.com
