Downtown in December... in JULY!

It might be hot outside, but we're already dreaming of winter wonderland days as we celebrate Downtown in December in July

While Santa and his team enjoy the sun, the Downtown OKC staff is busy planning the spectacular return of Downtown in December presented by Devon, our annual collection of holiday events and attractions taking place in the heart of the city. The 22nd season will take place from November to January and we need you to help make it happen!

Now through the end of the summer, we are recruiting events and attractions submissions as well as sponsors and partners

WEEKEND OF LOCAL - JULY 14-16

Support our local downtown shops

Small businesses throughout downtown have rallied together to offer tons of festivities, deals and activities to mark the occasion. Be sure to shop and eat local all weekend long July 14-16 and show support for the local businesses who make our community so unique. Our local businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. We see them and appreciate them and hope you join us in celebrating their hard work with the Independent Shopkeepers Association of Oklahoma. Visit weekendoflocal.com to find all the participating businesses and map out your weekend of local fun.

DESTINATION AUTO ALLEY - JULY 1 - SEPT 4

FREE TRANSIT DAYS - THIRD FRIDAYS

Try transit for free this summer

EMBARK is inviting Oklahoma City to try transit this summer for free. COPTA approved a slate of fare free days, including holidays and elections to promote transit use during the summer, when hotter ground temperatures and sunlight react with carbon emissions to produce higher ozone pollution. This includes their Third Friday Free program. July has two more free fare dates: July 11 - Special Elections, July 21 - Third Friday Free. See full list of the 2023 Free Fare Days here.
