July 2023

Summertime is officially here! Is there any better way to spend a summer evening than with an iced drink, a light breeze, a good book, and the company of fireflies? (or maybe you’re more of a lightning bug person). We hope this month finds you staying cool and making the most of these long summer days.

Closings

The Library will be closed on Sundays for the summer. The Library will resume Sunday hours on September 10.

Visiting a new place for the first time can be intimidating for anyone! We’re excited to launch our Library Social Stories for children and adults, written to help people know what to expect when they visit the Platteville Public Library. Social Stories are especially meant to help people with autism, ADHD, and/or anxiety feel comfortable with new experiences or visits to new places. Our Social Story can also be used by people who are new to the community and want to know what the library offers, people visiting Platteville who want to take a virtual tour before visiting, parents and caregivers who want to prepare their children for a visit to the library, and more! Our Social Stories are available to read online and are also available to checkout from the Library.
