Elections for APA Board of Directors

Dear Women & Planning Division members,

Linda Amato, FAICP and Sue Schwarz, FAICP, two long-time members of the Women & Planning Division, are petitioning to be included on the ballot for the upcoming 2023 APA Board of Directors election.
Linda is petitioning to be slated for her current seat on the Board of Directors (At Large Director Position 1) and Sue is petitioning to be slated for the role of President-Elect.

Both Linda and Sue submitted nominations to the appointed APA Nominating Committee, but neither were slated to be included on the ballot. They are now eligible to be included on the 2023 election ballot by petition. Both need to collect approximately 200 signatures *representing all APA regions* by July 20, 2023 to be included on the ballot by petition.

The Women & Planning Division strongly supports APA's efforts to diversify the leadership pipeline, but we also believe our members should have the opportunity to consider the relative qualifications of all interested and eligible candidates. Feel free to share this information with other APA members and components, who may be interested in supporting these petitions.

Please review the summaries below and consider signing the petitions to add Sue and Linda to this year's APA Leadership Ballots.

Thank you for your consideration,
Caroline Dwyer, AICP
