Nutri V takes would-be waste and turns it into nutrition. It used a Circular Economy Business Support Fund grant to build a zero-waste food-processing hub in the South Werribee Growing district. It upcycles surplus veggies and by-products into food and ingredients, like this gelato containing a serve of veggies in every two scoops.
More than 7% of all landfills in Australia is made up of furniture. That’s 8.5 million tonnes sent to landfill every year. It takes up valuable space and it’s very slow to break down – if it does at all.
The Australian Furniture Association (AFA) has used a Circular Economy Business Support Fund grant to create a guide to buying sustainable commercial furniture. It has also developed an industry sector plan and business case that promotes circularity. It hopes to decrease the amount of furniture going to landfills in Victoria by around 1% (9975 tonnes).
