Despite July’s pop-up storms, smoke-filled skies, hail stones, and heavy rainfall, the gardens are blooming vibrantly in an array of colors. Each day alongside fresh blooms, new pollinators and butterfly species are arriving, adding to the beauty and biodiversity of the garden.

Free Kids Class Paint a Flower – Friday, July 28

Children drawing and painting simple flowers is a delightful and creative activity that allows them to explore their imagination and artistic skills. Beyond aesthetics, flowers hold significant meaning through their colors. For instance, red often represents love, yellow symbolizes happiness, and white signifies purity.

Understanding these associations can encourage kids to express emotions through their artwork. Moreover, flowers and their vibrant hues play a crucial role in attracting pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and birds. This symbiotic relationship aids in the process of pollination, fostering biodiversity and supporting the ecosystem's health. Through drawing and painting flowers, children can also develop an appreciation for nature's intricate interconnectedness and the importance of preserving our environment.

Fall Gardening for Wildlife Tour – October 7 and 21, 2 pm

We would love for you to join us and help us grow in the garden! During the summer we have many plants to water and keep in check. Aggressive plants and weeds can take over quickly, so we need all the help we can get. Volunteering with DBG this season is a rewarding opportunity for you to contribute to our cause.

DBG is growing and have positions available for Point of Sale, Greeters, Garden Stewards and Docents, and we hope to see you soon!
