After much consideration and outreach regarding potential fiscal sponsors and organizational models for MAHC, the board has mapped an exciting path forward for MAHC and seeks member input.

Membership votes on these items will be held at our August 1, 9-10:30 am Member Meeting in Portland (location announced soon), or can be emailed beforehand to info@mainehousingcoalition.org as long as MAHC board chair Amy Cullen is cc'd as well: acullen@szantoncompany.com.
 

1. VOTE 1: As you know, MAHC was looking for a new fiscal sponsor this spring. Upon evaluating this approach and the limited options, the board is recommending that MAHC incorporate as an independent 501c4.
    
2. VOTE 2: To move forward becoming an independent 501c4, MAHC needs to update its bylaws. With legal support from Curtis Thaxter, the board is sharing these draft bylaws for member approval. These may be revised in the coming weeks and a final will be shared before a vote on August 1. Please email your input to: info@mainehousingcoalition.org. Draft Bylaws.
    
3. VOTE 3: MAHC's bylaws prescribe a membership vote on annual policy priorities. We have two priority bills being carried over from this year to next year (Incentivizing ADU development; Funding for Housing Development from 2025-2028). We seek your input in this survey to finalize our priorities (we sent this out before, but only 13 people have responded). We will workshop these ideas further and share a final before the vote on August 1. Priorities Survey
