Welcome to the July newsletter!

Summer is here and with the holidays comes the time to explore a largely unexplored topic: the potential of Jewish cemeteries as visitor destinations. Find out more in this feature article by Dr Paul Darby.

Keep up the summer mood by sending a photo to our Photo Competition 2023, applying to be one of the first hikers to walk the new Ziltepad route in the north of The Netherlands, and discovering the monastery trail walked by the participants of our latest Run for Heritage.

Don't forget about important events coming after summer: save your spot for the "Architectures of the Soul" Conference, register for our next FRH Masterclass and send your application to the FRH Innovator of the Year 2023.

The latest European Year of Skills interviews sneak into the carpentry workshops of Mudejar art carpenters Ricardo Cambas and Agustín Castellanos (Spain) and traditional woodworker Iosif Cistean (Romania).

If you are looking to participate in international initiatives, go to our European news section where we invite you to register for the 31st ENCATC Congress, nominate an endangered cultural heritage site to the 7 Most Endangered, be inspired by the winners of the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2023 and meet the newly nominated Commissioner for Culture, Iliana Ivanova.

Last but not least, take a moment to relax with our latest Religiana list, Contemporary Mosques of Europe.

See you next month!
