What could you implement for Recycling Week and beyond?
It might be the way you recycle your beauty waste, encourage re-usable coffee / tea / smoothie cups, try to be packaging free or discourage use of unnecessary packaging/bags etc, recycle or give away your coffee grounds... there are lots of creative things we're sure you're doing already, but we'd love to hear about them so we can publicise them. marketing@loveoxted.co.uk
What could YOU do for Recycling Week (and beyond)?
You may already be doing something already, and if you are, let us know because we'd love to share what you do with the wider community.
Here are some ideas you could adopt for National Recycling Week (and beyond):
- Coffee grounds giveaway for gardens and beauty use (great scrub!). Customers bring a container and take away free grounds.
- Packaging-free / plastic-free week
- Offer a reusable branded shopping bag
- Free or Special offer on reusable straws / bottles
- Coffee/soft drink refillable cups (no take away/throwaway cups) - special offer/incentive to buy a reusable cup.
- Be an Ink cartridge drop-off point
- Be a Battery drop-off point (We know Sainsbury's does this. Could we get some spare bins to locate around the town during Recycling week?)
- Sports shoes recycle challenge (Simply Sports will work on an incentive and hopes to be able to recycle silicone swim goggles)
- Hair collection by salons
- Beauty product refills offer
- Doggy bags (to reduce food waste, all food businesses should offer doggy bags to customers)

We desperately need more business managers to help to support The Oxted BID as part of the management team. We are a small BID, but we really need the input and some time of local business owners to help us drive activities and ideas to support and develop Oxted business. We currently only have 3 Board Directors and we really need more!
All it requires is a willingness to help support your immediate business community via a few hours a week of your time.
