There are many factors that contribute to a child's future success. At Majengo Children's Home, we believe healthcare and education are two of the key factors that contribute to a child's future success.
Considering that many of children who enter the Majengo programming have not yet attended school, and in some cases, are unwell when they arrive - Majengo aims to focus on their health and education to help them GROW towards a happy and healthy future.
A healthy and educated child has many advantages as they GROW.

When you support Majengo Children's Home, you support the health and education of every Majengo child, making them OPTIMISTIC about their futures.
Education Programs:
Majengo has a number of education focused programs that span across several vulnerable populations of children. The estimated budget for education only includes the most basic costs associated with education, and nothing beyond that. It is made up of programs such as the Majengo Pre-School, Live-In Program, Maasai Girls Program etc.

Health Programs:
The most basic costs associated with healthcare for the children directly enrolled in Majengo's program is estimated to be around $10,000 USD per year. This includes things like yearly physicals, vaccinations and basic medication. However, this does not tinclude any health training, health outreach clinics or any emergencies - all of which Majengo has many of every year.

Full-Time Nurse:
Majengo has a full-time nurse who lives at Majengo and helps care for all of the children living at the centre, as well as the children in our community programs. The nurse can help with first-aid, gastro issues, and flus and also cares for the Majengo children with chronic illness who require consistent monitoring.

Full-Time Teacher:
Majengo has a number of teachers on staff who help with pre-school education as well as homework, tutoring and general academic support. Many of the children would continue to struggle at school without the help of the Majengo teachers.
