A NOTE FROM PASTOR JERRY

As I've watched the reports from our students who attended the Nazarene Youth Conference in Tampa this summer, my heart has been encouraged. I have warm memories of our opening night at the District Assembly, where we focused on passing our faith and leadership legacy to our young people. It was good that so many could attend, and we could personally pray for them. Now that they've returned, I'm praying that the infectious love of Christ present at the Tampa event will filter its way into our congregations and that the life of Jesus will be reflected in their faces.

Life circumstances have caused me to think a lot about perspective, what's important, and what needs to be passed on. While lying awake in the early morning hours, thinking about all the challenges ahead and transitions coming, my heart wasn't at rest. I found peace in the night in the lyrics of an old gospel song. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace." I'm praying for us and our future as a district. I'm asking the Lord that as we gather, we will see the glory and grace of Jesus reflected in our lives and the hope we offer.

HEALTH UPDATE - PASTOR JERRY

Pastor Jerry and Sharon are so grateful for all of the prayers and support they’ve received since Jerry was diagnosed in mid-June with advanced cancer. There have been some beautiful times of prayer, bringing the entire circumstance before the Lord and asking for a healing touch. Jerry is also working with oncologists who have developed a treatment plan. He has finished one round of that therapy, and it will be a several-month process. Your prayers are so appreciated. Because the therapy affects his immune system and creates fatigue, Pastor Jerry is resting and working from home. You can contact him through Sonya at the district office or call or text him on his cell phone.

RENOVATIONS AT RANDLE

Since May 2022, renovations have been underway to renovate the housing for Randle Church of the Nazarene! The pastor's quarters, once repurposed as classrooms, are returning to their roots and being revamped into cozy living spaces again!

The Real Life Communities Church in Olympia collaborated with Randle Church, contributing around $10k and providing plumbers, an electrician, and handymen. This allowed Randle to install new plumbing fixtures, a water heater, and a dual ductless mini-split for heating and AC. Centralia Nazarene also chipped in by generously installing used kitchen cabinets, adding the perfect finishing touch!

Their new pastor, Brian Morgan, and his wife, Catherine, will soon have a place to stay.
