Road Work Ahead

The Ministry of transportation is undertaking asphalt resurfacing along East Shuswap Road starting the week of July 9, 2023. Paving work begins at 7:00 am and ends at 6:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. The project is expected to take 10 days complete. Paving will commence from Lafarge towards the Intersection of Highway #5 & East Shuswap Road.

Some delays are expected with managed single lane alternating traffic around construction zones. Cattleguard bumps and base repair areas with loose gravel are signed. Construction signage and flaggers will maintain traffic through the site.

Construction Speed limits are 50km/hr throughout the project duration, day and night until the paving of the East Shuswap Road is complete.

Water Restrictions

The River Forecast Centre has just issued an alert regarding the high risk of provincewide drought in B.C. It's crucial that we take immediate action to protect our water supply for critical needs and preserve the health of fish-bearing streams and rivers.

  • Effective immediately, water restrictions are in place. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Sprinkling or irrigating is strictly prohibited between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm every day. Remember, the morning hours are the best time to water your lawn. The cooler temperatures and calm winds allow the water to penetrate the soil and be absorbed by the grass roots before it evaporates.
  • Condominium residents, please use the building address instead of your unit number when following these restrictions.
  • If you reside at an even-numbered address, you are permitted to sprinkle or irrigate ONLY on even-numbered days. Likewise, if you have an odd-numbered address, watering is allowed ONLY on odd-numbered days.
  • Watering between midnight and 6:00 am is generally restricted. However, if your sprinklers are controlled by an automatic timer, you may water during this timeframe.
  • All outdoor handheld hoses must be equipped with a spring-loaded shut-off nozzle. These hoses can be used at any time.
  • Please note that the first offence will result in a notice. For subsequent violations, a fine of $100 will be imposed. We kindly request your cooperation and adherence to these measures.
