Below are just a few of the important events and occasions that take place at Majengo Children's Home to create a family environment and contribute to the well-being of each Majengo child, allowing them to feel loved, important and cared for.
Our Head Mama:
Ameni, the Majengo head mama, takes care of all of the children, making sure everyone's needs are being met. Ameni is caring, loving and friendly.

Birthday Parties:
Once a month, a birthday party is held to celebrate the Majengo children born within that month. Celebrating a child's birthday is an extremely important childhood experience. The monthly party includes cake and soda for everyone!

Family Outings:
There are 18 smaller family units at Majengo who enjoy family-like excursions throughout the year. It may be going out for a meal, or to the market together. These excursions help solidify a family dynamic which is so critical to the feeling of stability which every child needs and deserves.

Family Day School Visits:
Many of the children go away to school in their later years. Mamas from Majengo visit them at school to make sure they are doing well and feel loved.

Holiday Celebrations:
Many holidays are observed at MCH throughout the year including Christmas, Eid and New Year's. Like in any family, these celebrations are important to encourage bonding and togetherness.
