New Study - Shifting power dynamics: Equity, diversity and inclusion in the nonprofit sector
A new study led by the Equitable Recovery Collective with support from Scotiabank shows that while charities and nonprofits overwhelmingly express support for the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), when it comes to concrete actions many - especially white-led organizations - are doing less than they can and should. The study also shows that organizations with leadership from Black, Indigenous, racialized communities and other underrepresented groups do more to advance EDI, even though they serve some of the highest-need communities, experience increased expectations from funders, and face greater barriers.

Salvation Army Thrift Store
Today we want to highlight an amazing volunteer who is helping at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Here is what Rae Lynne Friesen the Thrift Store Manager has to say about his dedication.
"Ethan has been a valuable volunteer with the new Salvation Army Thrift Store for the past year, and had volunteered previously at our old location, before it closed back in 2020.
Ethan loves to volunteer with us, and happily comes in 5 days a week. He is happy to keep busy and takes on many duties. He assists with the receiving of donations, helps customers to their vehicles with their purchases, and has even learned to sort, price & display merchandise in the store.
He is very funny, loves what he does & is always willing to help.
Thank You Ethan – You are an amazing part of our team!,”
