OPEN CALL FOR TEACHING ARTIST IN RESIDENCE—UNIQUE 3-WEEK PAID ARTIST OPPORTUNITY IN GORGEOUS CUYAMA VALLEY, CA
AMPLIFY SLEEP AWAY (+ Day!) CAMP may be over for the season, but Amplify programming never stops. This fall we're running another 3-week session of our beloved Cuyama Valley Teaching Artist Residency in partnership with Blue Sky Center, and we need an incredible female-identifying or gender-expansive artist for it. THAT ARTIST COULD BE YOU!
Our teaching artist residency at Cuyama Valley’s stunning Blue Sky Center fosters creative growth for any female/gender-expansive artist ready to expand their perspectives through positive mentorship. This could be musicians, DJs, painters, photographers, filmmakers, songwriters…really any kind of art is on the table, but music/multimedia emphasis definitely gets bonus points!

Free from external pressures, residents spend 3 weeks pursuing independently led interdisciplinary projects that explore rural places as culturally vibrant places for creatives to live and work, among other important topics. In addition, residents help further arts enrichment and access within the Cuyama Valley by engaging regularly with ~190 Cuyama Joint Unified School District (CJUSD) students via resident-designed and -directed art workshops.
