Welcome to the QMNC Platform

We're thrilled to have you on board the QMNC Research Alliance. In our previous email, we introduced you to our platform and how to get started. We have users from around the world and we are developing this platform together. Your active engagement is so important.

So, let's dive into the heart of our alliance — our Research Priorities!

Based on the evidence presented in the 2014 Lancet Series on Midwifery, a group of multidisciplinary researchers, clinicians, and advocates in 2016 conducted research with the World Health Organization (WHO) to identify the top research priorities to improve maternal and newborn health (Kennedy et al., 2016). In 2018, authors of the original Lancet Series on Midwifery and additional international stakeholders held a strategic planning retreat to further refine the priorities to those we believe should draw our focus and collaboration (Kennedy et al., 2018).

You will find groups on the platform for each of the three research priorities and our crosscutting themes, where you can engage in discussion and share and learn about how your research interests align.

Do you want to take a deep dive into the QMNC Framework and Midwifery Model of Care? A Global QMNC Certificate is offered through Yale — it’s free to sign up.

We encourage you to engage with our research priorities, crosscutting aims, and QMNC framework conversations on the platform. Your expertise and passion will drive positive change. Collaboration is key — together, we'll transform maternal and newborn care worldwide.

If you have questions or need assistance, send me a message on the platform or email us at QMNCResearchAlliance@gmail.com. We're here to support you on this exciting journey!

In the next email in our welcome series of three, we will continue to highlight the different ways you can actively engage with the QMNC Research Alliance community. We will showcase upcoming events, webinars, and discussion topics that align with your interests and support your participation and sharing of your insights as well as connection with fellow members. Your contribution is invaluable in shaping the future of quality maternal and newborn care.

Warm regards,

Jodine Chase
