Reminder: As required by the Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules to maintain privileges, Active and Provisional Medical Staff members should attend at least 50% of medical staff meetings in a calendar year.
FE Project Validates Safe Daycare Mastectomy Procedures
Supported by Facility Engagement funding, Dr. Hamish Hwang and two surgical residents completed the Inpatient vs Daycare Mastectomy project which subsequently contributed to the growing body of evidence that surgical daycare mastectomy procedures are safe in the community setting. Findings were recently published in the Canadian Journal of Surgery.
The VJH Medical Staff Association Scholarship, funded by annual medical staff dues, awards $1000 each to five School District #22 graduates who excel in biological sciences and pursue medically related studies.
The scholarship has been helping students cope with rising education costs for over 20 years.
