This is our chance to change renting laws for good!

In the last few weeks we have seen some hopeful signs that decision-makers are willing to take action on the rental crisis. The NSW Government appointed NSW's first Rental Commissioner and has opened its consultation on Improving NSW Renting Laws.

This government consultation is a really important opportunity to have a say on the changes needed to make renting fair. It covers key areas for reform, including ending 'no grounds' evictions, pets, data privacy, and rent affordability.

You can have your say through completing the survey and/or a submission. The Tenants' Union and Make Renting Fair strongly encourage you to do both, whether you are a renter or community supporter. And encourage your friends to do so too! We have developed two resources to help:

Do the survey
Write a submission
