How to Build an inclusive Volunteering Program

If you don't build accessibility and inclusivity into your corporate volunteering program, you risk undercutting your efforts. That's because the very benefits of volunteering hinge on all employees feeling invited and included. Done right, an inclusive volunteering program provides a deeper sense of meaning for employees, strengthens relationships across the company, and improves company culture.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs): What Your Organizations Needs to Know

The rise of donor-advised funds (DAFs) in recent years has been undeniable, but data about these funds, and practical resources for charities looking to maximize their potential, has been sorely lacking. To address this gap, KCI and the CAGP Foundation recently released a report focused on this rapidly growing giving vehicle, which examined DAFs from the perspective of all sector participants, including donors, financial advisors, and, importantly, the thousands of charities in Canada that, together, receive over $1 billion in funding from DAFs annually.

In this free webinar, join Celeste Bannon Waterman, Partner at KCI, as she presents key findings from this report including the basic elements of donor-advised funds, current regulatory frameworks and the estimated size of this growing pool of funds in Canada. This session will also bring a particular focus to understanding the motivations and interests of donors who use DAFs, and how fundraisers and nonprofit leaders can enhance their practices and approaches to attract and retain these highly motivated and philanthropic donors.

We want to highlight a fantastic volunteer who is helping at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Here is what Rae Lynne Friesen the Thrift Store Manager has to say about his dedication. "Levi has been a long time volunteer at the Lethbridge Salvation Army Thrift Store. Volunteering 4 days a week, we can count on Levi (& his support workers) to come in & organize, cull & price items in a very meticulous & organized way. He's loyal & loves to be a regular part of our Salvation Army Team." Thank you Levi!
