Did you know?

Returning service personnel contributed to record enrollment at SWU (then known as Wesleyan Methodist College) after World War II. The trend also resulted in a higher average age of the student body. Barracks-style buildings were moved to Central from a military base, and within the next few years a building boom took place, which included present-day Childs Hall and Correll Hall.

Mascot Survey
The SWU athletics department is conducting a brief survey to get your input regarding the university's mascot name, “The Warriors.” The responses are not a binding vote, but will provide valuable input into the decision-making process. NCAA II UpdateMoving athletics beyond
The SWU board of trustees voted to begin the process of moving the Athletic Programs to NCAA Division II. The estimated cost for the application year is $150,000. With the help of many supporters thus far, more than $51,000 has been raised in this abbreviated fundraising process. There are just a few short months to raise the additional funds needed to hire consultants, cover the costs of the required strategic plan and pay for the application process and associated roles to apply for first round consideration with the NCAA.

Please continue to pray for this fundraising project and for the NCAA process as SWU continues to move BEYOND together as a University! To learn more about this fundraising process to receive a Moving Athletics Beyond brochure please feel free to contact the Department of Athletics and Director of Athletics Chris R.
