Ashley J. Housten, OTD, MSCI, OTR/L, and Shu (Joy) Jiang, PhD have been awarded research funds from the Siteman Investment Program aimed to support and accelerate the pace of innovation in cancer research. 

An interdisciplinary team, co-led by Dr. Yin Cao, ScD, MPH, focusing on 'Early-onset Cancers,' is among the top 12 finalists out of over 170 global applications submitted to the Cancer Grand Challenges. This initiative, founded by Cancer Research UK and US National Cancer Institute, offers up to $25 million in funding to world-class research teams tackling cancer’s toughest challenges. 


Siobhan Sutcliffe, PhD, ScM, MHS and former T32 postdoc Marvin Langston, PhD, MPH received the Cancer Moonshot Scholars R01 award. This grant will use existing data and blood samples from the large, racially-diverse Kaiser Permanente Northern California Integrated Health System and its embedded Multiphasic Health Checkups Study to investigate the value of using men’s baseline prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels to tailor their future prostate cancer screening.
